Short Fiction
Christian Mueth Summer 2026 Poems
Life is like a painting: it’s however you want to interpret it.
Sweetness:
Oh, sweet nothing!
Your sweet nothings…
So sweet a thing.
My everything.
Panned:
Wendy darling,
Your eyes, sterling,
End me, darling!
Heart’s unfurling.
Kiss. Ease hooks in me.
Miss. Please set me free!
Play pretend…
Say you’ll miss me.
In the end…
It’s my one plea!
Binary Systems:
Not all things are binary.
Some things are analog.
Many find this scary.
Can’t fit their boxy blog.
Many are analog and binary.
Some things are somehow not, given that.
It’s totally all arbitrary.
Come with me and put on a mad hat.
It Tracks:
Tonight’s moon is blue,
I drive out seeking,
A train and its tracks.
So much I must do,
And I am screeching,
For what my soul lacks.
I haven’t a clue,
How it’s still leaking.
One more of its acts?
Star Woven:
Stars twinkle. Planets gleam.
Space crinkles at the seam.
Smirk. Inkle. In a dream …
Shadowed and Cornered:
In the corner of my eye,
On the ceiling to the sky,
A chase abounds, until I find,
Elusive shadow, undefined.
